High-Performance 2U Rackmount NAS

The Synology RackStation RS3626xs is a 2U enterprise NAS designed for centralized storage, file sharing, backup, virtualization and business applications. It features an Intel Xeon D-1726 6-core processor, 8GB of DDR4 ECC memory and 12 SATA drive bays for scalable enterprise storage.

12-Bay Storage with Expansion

The RS3626xs supports 12 × 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. Storage capacity can be expanded to 36 drive bays using two compatible RX1225RP expansion units, providing up to 864TB of raw storage capacity, depending on the drives installed.

Enterprise RAID and Data Protection

The NAS supports multiple RAID configurations, including RAID F1, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 and RAID 10, along with Basic and JBOD configurations. This allows organizations to balance storage capacity, performance and data redundancy according to their requirements.

High-Speed Network Connectivity

For high-throughput data transfers, the RS3626xs includes dual 10GbE RJ-45 network ports along with a dedicated out-of-band management port. It also provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two Mini-SAS HD expansion ports.

Memory and PCIe Expansion

The system comes with 8GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM and provides six memory slots, supporting up to 48GB using supported 8GB modules. Two PCIe Gen4 x8 slots provide additional expansion options such as higher-speed networking and other supported adapter cards.

Synology DSM Platform

The RS3626xs runs Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) rather than Windows. DSM provides centralized storage management, file sharing, backup, synchronization, access control and other business-oriented applications. The system supports Btrfs for internal storage and common file-sharing protocols including SMB, NFS, FTP, WebDAV and Rsync.

Enterprise Reliability

The RS3626xs is designed for business-critical environments with redundant power supplies, remote out-of-band management and support for Synology High Availability configurations. These features make it suitable for organizations requiring improved uptime and centralized storage management.
